Summer’s coming to an end. It’s time to pack your book bag and get ready for the first day of school. It’s your
senior year and all these different emotions are running through your mind. So you’re anxious and excited, but
at the same time, sad that it will be your last year. Of course your mind is on your classes, but what you’re really
thinking about is the last impression you’re going to leave with your school. What will the freshmen, sophomores,
and juniors think when they hear your name years after you have graduated. I know what I want people to think
when they hear my name, “Oh, Sapphire, yeah I remember her. That’s the girl who came to school everyday
dressed to impress. She was always rocking the hottest looks and adding her own sense of style to it. She
always seemed so confident with herself. I would love to be like that too. ”
Many people say your high school and college years are the years when you find yourself. One important way to
find yourself is finding your own style. There is a range of ways of defining fashion. When you hear fashion you
automatically think that fashion is what all the celebrities and top models are wearing. You can make your own
definition of fashion by finding a style to call your own. Try on different clothing until you find what’s right for you.
Try on elegant designer clothing, or some funky outfits you find in a thrift shop. It’s not mainly about what you’re
wearing, but about how it makes you feel. If you find something you feel comfortable and confident in, then who
is to tell you it’s not stylish enough. Once you find a style that you love and can call your own than you can say
that’s your definition of fashion.
A fun thing about fashion is that it’s constantly changing. If you become tired of one style you define as yours,
feel free to change it. It’s your definition and you can change it as often as you like as long as you stay true to
yourself and you’re changing it because you want to and not because of anybody else. Many people live on a
budget and can’t afford to buy a whole new wardrobe whenever they get tired of wearing the same clothing. A
great way to make a bold statement is mixing and matching old pieces with the newest trends. You can get a hot
new look without emptying your savings. So you have a hot new style and you found your own definition of
fashion? Looks to me like you’re the most fashionable thing around and nobody can tell you otherwise.
