I have modeled in three Urban Spice Magazine fashion shows. I have noticed that there has been one designer that has also been at
three urban spice fashion shows. I have noticed that I didn’t really know anything about him except that he could design trendy clothing.
After rocking the chic blue and white trench coat down the runway, I just knew I had to have a little chat with the man behind the designs
of Cuemadi Clothing Company. I had the urge to learn more about what goes on as far as the inspiration and creating of the designs.
After my brief interview with Quincy Cuemadi White I began to realize how he came up with his great designs and how he became such a
success in the fashion industry.
Me: So I noticed your middle name is Cuemadi, what made you decide to use that as the name of your designs?
Cuemadi: Because my name is catchy.
Me: I have to agree with that. What would she say is the inspiration behind your designs?
Cuemadi: My children.
Me: Awwww! And how many children do you have?
Cuemadi: I have 3 boys and 2 girls.
Me: So around what age would you say you became interested in designing and what made you actually do it?
Cuemadi: I would say around the age of 15 or 16 and I just had a strong passion for it, so I went with it.
Me: And when coming up with new designs do you look towards more of what the media is saying is fashionable or are you original and
go with your own ideas.
Cuemadi: I definitely come up with my own ideas. I always have a picture in my mind of what I want and I begin designing it.
Me: How far do you contribute in making your designs?
Cuemadi: I sew, I print, and I do just about everything.
Me: Who would you say is your base target market?
Cuemadi: People who like to wear urban, couture, and casual clothing. I create designs for women, men, teens, kids, adults, pretty
much everybody.
Me: When you see Urban Spice models wearing you’re designs on the runway, how does it make you feel?
Cuemadi: I feel great. It inspires me to create more and move up in my career and success.
Me: Well I have to agree you are very successful designer and I love your clothing. Where exactly can people purchase your clothing?
Cuemadi: At the Roaring 20’s in the Stonecrest Mall area. Also I sell my clothes online at www.cuemadiclothingcompanygoods.com.
