Denmark(Danish) researchers found that ginger can block the effects
of prostaglandins. These are substances that cause inflammation of the
blood vessels in the brain, which leads to
migraines.
1/3 teaspoon of fresh of powdered ginger taken when you feel a
migraine coming on
may prevent pain.

To treat & prevent
motion sickness
1/4 teaspoon of fresh of powdered ginger taken  30 minutes
before a car or boat trip
should give you roughly 4 hours of relief.  

Ginger reduces nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy
and is comparable in effect to vitamin B6.

Ginger Tea -
Has a spicy, invigorating taste.  It is a popular remedy for motion sickness, menstrual cramps,and
cramps caused by stomach gas
. Ginger produces a warming effect the upper respiratory tract which makes it
well known in the fight against respiratory infections, thus in the treatment of colds & flu. Ginger
is a
natural decongestant and antihistamine. Ginger also stimulates digestion.
(Sweeteners are not recommended if your making ginger tea as home remedy during cold & flu season.)
Basic Ginger Tea

Ingredients

4 cups water
2-inch piece of fresh
ginger root
optional: honey & lemon
slice

Preparation

Peel the ginger root and
slice it into thin slices.

Bring the water to a boil in
a saucepan.  

Add the ginger to the
boiling water.

Cover and reduce to a
simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Strain the tea.

Add honey and lemon to
taste.

Sip as needed.
Ginger and
Chamomile Tea

Ingredients

2 cups water
1 inch piece of fresh ginger root –
sliced or grated
2 Chamomile tea bags
or
2 tsps Chamomile herbs

Preparation

Bring the water to a boil

Add the ginger

Reduce the heat and simmer for
15 to 20 minutes

Pour the tea, strain if necessary

Add the Chamomile tea bags or
Chamomile herbs

Let it steep for a few minutes

Add honey and lemon to  taste

Sip as needed.
